In the 16th century restored settlement of Milia, rooms preserve the architecture and aesthetic style of the mountainous area of Western Crete. Reconstructed with attention to detail, they hold something of the atmosphere, the remembrance, and imprint of its former inhabitants, bringing them to the present for our guests.

The restaurant is fantastic, super good quality food, freshly prepared. A real treat. Served by friendly and knowledgeable staff.
5 stars all the way for the restaurant. Unfortunately the accommodation is a little disappointing. It has the feel of an upmarket hostel rather than eco lodging. It’s only small things that let it down, for example, the whole point of coming here is to do the fantastic walks. There are no information boards or maps. We eventually got a sheet on one walk from reception…..but it should have been easier. Breakfast was average and the breakfast room poorly laid out. Not keen to see a dog in the food prep area. Extra charges for hot items at breakfast was a surprise. The eco credentials if this places are debatable, lots of concrete, wood burners (and hence lots of smoke when sitting outside), no signs of recycling. That said, it is an interesting place to stay, fantastic walks and great restaurant.

Reviewing the restaurant, since we did not stay in their accommodation. Amazing (maybe unique) alpine feel off the beaten track location with beautiful surroundings (the drive alone is worth it), welcoming staff and friendly service, and great food. Highly recommended if you are looking for a different Crete experience.

Wow… went there for lunch on a tour about 5 days ago. Food and atmosphere is incredible. Its a fun adventure driving up the mountain getting there. Great service. Had a taste of several dishes. Didnt stay in the rooms. The grounds are beautiful and very unique.

This will be one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of your trip to Greece. The food in the restaurant is amazing. The service and hospitality for our group of 12 women was amazing. We loved the personalized experiences. Mochmoud – one of the young staff took amazing care of us, as did the waiters in the restaurant. The story, history, beauty, and peacefulness of this place is healing & restorative. I can’t wait to come back to this special place.

Hidden mountain gem! Such a refreshment to come here after loud seaside towns. Epic breakfast &restaurant views, hiking and amazing food. Probably it was the best musaka I’ve ever tried.
