    Κίσσαμος… αστείρευτη κοιτίδα πολιτισμού με πλούσια μουσική παράδοση που βαστάει γερά τα ηνία και της απονέμεται η ονομασία “Η γενέτειρα των συρτών”. Ζηλευτή σε όλα της, στους ρυθμούς της, στα παιξίματά της, στη δυναμική της. Δεν χρειάζεται να πούμε πολλά… η Κισσαμίτικη μουσική αποτελεί από μόνη της ένα μουσικό είδος ανεπανάληπτο και άκρως επιστημονικό για μελέτη. Μάνα μεγάλων συνθετών της Κρήτης μας, γέννησε σκοπούς ανεξίτηλους στο χρόνο και που θα παίζονται όσο θα στέκει αυτός ο τόπος.

    Άξιοι εκπρόσωποι αυτής της μουσικής παράδοσης είναι τα «Δοξάρια της Κισσάμου» που σας παρουσιάζουμε μέσα από αυτή την έκδοση και πιο συγκεκριμένα με αλφαβητική σειρά οι: Δημήτρης Βακάκης, Νίκος Βρουλάκης, Διαμαντής Κοσιδεκάκης, Μιχάλης Λουφαρδάκης, Γιάννης Πολυχρονάκης, Μάρκος Ρενιέρης, Μιχάλης Σαπουνάκης, Στρατής Σκαράκης, Κυριάκος Σταυριανουδάκης, Ηλίας Χορευτάκης.

    Τέλος, αξίζει να αναφερθούμε και να σταθούμε στο χωριό «Βλάτος» και στους ανθρώπους του. Ένα μικρό χωριό, στην καρδιά της Κισσάμου, που ευθύνη και χρέος όλων μας είναι να στηρίξουμε την προσπάθειά των κατοίκων του να παρουσιάζουν τέτοιες εκδηλώσεις απαράμιλλης ομορφιάς αλλά και πηγής έμπνευσης και σκέψης.

    Η εταιρεία μας για ακόμη μια φορά γίνεται αρωγός και είναι παρούσα σε οτιδήποτε καλό έχει να προσφέρει και να αναδείξει αυτός ο τόπος. «Τα δοξάρια της Κισσάμου» είναι εδώ! Απολαύστε τα !!!

    Χθες το βράδυ το χωριό μας είχε την τιμή να φιλοξενήσει δύο σπουδαίους Κρητικούς μουσικούς, τον Ζαχαρία Σπυριδάκη και τον Γιάννη Πολυχρονάκη και η συναυλία ήταν πέρα για πέρα πιστευτή.

    Στην πρεμιέρα του Vlatos Jazz 2022 είχαμε την τιμή να φιλοξενήσουμε δύο εξαιρετικούς κιθαρίστες, τον Σάκη Τσίνουκα και τον Γιώργο Κωστόπουλο. Πολλοί επισκέπτες επισκέφτηκαν το ατμοσφαιρικό venue την Κυριακή 26 Ιουνίου και απόλαυσαν τις υπέροχες παροχές μας σε μουσική, φαγητό και ποτά.

    This will be the first VOŁOSI appearance in Greece. The VOŁOSI story began in 2010 when contemporary violinist Krzysztof Lasoń and cellist Stanisław Lasoń met incredibly talented traditional performers deep in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains. During all these years VOŁOSI created their genuine style, which defies definition: dynamic, full of passion and very sophisticated at the same time.

    They performed more than 700 concerts in 34 countries all around the world, being hosted by the most prestigious festivals and venues: Wiener Konzerthaus (Austria), Rainforest World Music Festival (Malaysia), Sori Festival (South Korea), City Theater of Brugge (Belgium), Gala of Stockholm Water Prize (Sweden), Hamamatsu World Music Festival (Japan), CaixaForum (Spain), Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Urkult (Sweden), Mission Folk Music Festival (Canada), TFF Rudolstadt (Germany), Shenzhen Music Festival (China), Dranouter (Belgium), O.Z.O.R.A. (Hungary), The Opening Gala of WOMEX 2017 (Poland), Universo Assisi (Italy), United Islands (Czech Republic), Glatt&Verkehrt (Austria), Arts Festival of North Norway, Songlines Encounters (UK), WOMAD (UK).

    They won Grand Prix at New Tradition Festival, Czech Music Crossroads Festival and Svetozar Stracina EBU Festival for the Best European World Music Composition 2011. VOŁOSI performed during WOMEX 2014 and at WOMEX 2017 opening ceremony, at Stockholm Water Prize Gala for King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, for the heads of states of Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Latvia, Bulgaria, and Israel. Their CD with Felix Lajko became 2nd place at World Music Charts Europe, 1st place at Balkan World Music Chart and a title of “Songlines Best Album 2019”

    Their concerts have been broadcasted by the Polish Radio 2. and 3., the BBC, WDR3, Ö1 and Korean MBC.

    Epi K. Paradox

    Epi K. Paradox, guitarist, composer and producer, born in Chania and living in various cities in Greece over the years, exchanged the sunny Mediterranean, to invest in his music career, moving from September 2014 to his headquarters in London.
    He is currently a graduate of the London College of Music at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and has collaborations and live performances in Greece and abroad. Inspired by the British Blues Explosion in the late 1960s and early 1970s, he has created a contemporary Blues album through his own musical prism, while remaining true to the Rhythm & Blues tradition.
    Listening to tracks on his album such as I’ll Be Long Gone, his musical influences from the electrified guitar riffs of Buddy Guy, Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy Page and Roy Buchanan, as well as his synthetic skills in the dynamic Blues ballad Love Is A, are clear. Losing Game reflect the revitalizing sound of the modern Blues scene.

    Scrap Music

    Scrap is the material left over from a creative process. All the smaller ideas, which did not find their way into a larger composition, are implemented, become a trigger for improvisation and expand, associatively leading one to the next.

    Without scheduled compositions, each performance is unique and unpredictable based on the interaction between the musicians. The aesthetic direction even depends on the quality characteristics of the audience, the uniqueness of the specific day and the acoustics of the space.

    Scrap music is a project aimed at both connoisseurs of improvised music and the wider music-loving public, as the improvisations are guided by the minimalist mood of African and African-American rhythms in combination with the rich European sound and harmonious landscapes.

    Jean-Loup Longnon

    Jean-Loup Longnon (born February 2, 1953, Paris) is a French jazztrumpeter, composer, and arranger. He is the nephew of Guy Longnon.

    Longnon comes from a family of writers and musicians and first studied piano and cello, but at the age of 15 he turned to jazz, where he learned to play by listening to recordings of musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie. Early in his career he played with groups such as the Jazzerinos and the Dixie Cats, and soon after with Milt Buckner, Chris Woods, Rhoda Scott, and Jef Gilson. He led a big band and played for years with his own small groups, and has worked with Roger Guerin, Eric Le Lann, Michel Legrand, Daniel Huck, Kenny Clarke, Martial Solal, Stéphane Grappelli, Michel Petrucciani, Eddy Louiss, Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, Randy Brecker, Clark Terry, and Stan Getz. In 1999 he released the live recording Bop Dreamer, recorded at the jazz festival in Marciac(Pygmalion Records, with his septet, with two trumpets and two tenor saxophones). Cyclades (JMS / Sony, 1992) was inspired by the Greek islands and involved more than 90 musicians. With the pianist Louis Mazetier, he recorded the album Just Friends, which explored bebop and stride piano.

    As a composer, he is influenced by classical composers such as Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Henri Dutilleux, Igor Stravinsky, Francis Poulenc, and Darius Milhaud, as well as Brazilian music.

    Longnon won the Prix Django Reinhardt of the French Académie du Jazz (as well as their Boris Vian Prize) in 1991 and in 1995 the Django d’Or as the best French jazz musician.
